Dr. Paul E. King

Dr. Paul E. King

CEO and President
Dr. Paul E. King is co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ampere Scientific where his responsibilities include strategic, financial, operational and technical success of all Ampere Scientific product lines including VARmetricTM. Dr. King is a highly focused and well-respected professional with a track record of producing winning results in technology development and deployment. He is a global leader throughout the research and development arena in energy systems, with decades of sales and marketing experience prototype, pilot and full scale thermal processing systems that consistently produce positive change. Prior to forming Ampere Scientific, he was the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Outreach and Education for the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) where he led all activities related to the development of growth and partnerships for the lab, including intellectual property management, technology transfer, business development, education and international relations at all five NETL locations.
Dr. Matthew Cibula

Dr. Matthew Cibula

Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Matthew Cibula is the Chief Technology Officer in charge of the VARmetricTM product line and directs new technology development for Ampere Scientific. Ampere Scientific hired Dr. Cibula as its first key employee, where he has continued development of VARmetricTM through development of the 3D APS technology and lead a team of engineers to transition the technology from a prototype to a full-scale commercial system. Dr. Cibula’s role at AmpSci also includes R&D for the NSF-funded Vacuum Arc Control technology (patent pending), to control arc distributions during Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR).
Mr. Josh Motley, M.S.

Mr. Josh Motley, M.S.

Project Engineer
Mr. Joshua Motley, MSc Chemical Engineering has been with Ampere Scientific for more than a year now as a Project Engineer. Mr. Motley has experience in computational fluid dynamics and, through his educational and other employment experiences has become an expert in RF and EM fields, including modeling. Additionally, Mr. Motely has experience in experimental design and has been instrumental in assembling the laboratory unit for the NSF study of the Vacuum Arc Control technology.
Mr. Nathan Pettinger

Engineering Intern
Mr. Nathan Pettinger is Ampere Scientific’s Product Engineer in charge of mechanical design and manufacturing. He was brought onto Ampere Scientific in 2018 as a Mechanical Engineering student and continues to develop his skills and contributions. He has years of experience in industrial manufacturing and project management consulting. Mr. Pettinger is quickly becoming an essential asset to the Ampere Scientific team.

Chief Sales Engineer and Chief Customer Relations Officer
Mr. Paul Turner wears two hats at Ampere Scientific as both the Chief Sales Engineer and Chief Customer Relations Officer. With over 35 years of experience in ferrous and non-ferrous alloy development, melting and fabrication, he has led numerous successful teams in this area. He has deep ties to the titanium and specialty metals industry. Mr. Paul Turner works to ensure that our product development pathway meets or exceeds the demanding expectations of the industry.
